Humana - Guidance when you need it most

HumanaAccessSM Visa® Debit Card

The HumanaAccess Card is a key element of Humana’s Health Savings Account (HSA), Personal Care Account (PCA), and Healthcare Flexible Spending Account (FSA).

The card gives members an easy, convenient way to access spending account funds at health-related provider locations such as doctor's offices and pharmacies.

Easy to use at provider locations

To use the card at qualified provider locations — such as doctor’s and dentist’s offices, hospitals, and vision providers — members simply swipe the card. They can also write the card number and expiration date on a bill, as they would when paying with a credit card. Members should keep a detailed receipt or EOB for every card transaction in case they need to verify an expense, as required by the IRS.

Easy to use at the pharmacy

Members can also use the card at the pharmacy for prescriptions and, in some cases, for qualified over-the-counter drugs*. Because Humana uses real-time substantiation, members who have a Humana medical plan don't have to verify prescription purchases later.

* Members with a Health Savings Account (HSA) can use the HumanaAccess Card to buy over-the-counter (OTC) drugs directly from the pharmacy. The HumanaAccess Card can be used for OTCs in conjunction with an FSA or PCA at Walgreens retail locations.

Doubles as the member ID card

In many cases, the HumanaAccess Card is also the member ID card — so it provides convenient, all-in-one access to both spending account funds and health plan information.
